Lima/Elida Fun Day!

I got to see several different things all summer but this was one assignment I really couldn't wrap my head around. Why would anyone VOLUNTEER to do something like get hit with 50,000 volts of electricity. Oh well it was interesting to say the least. I also got to see a Lima Police officer propel down the side of a building downtown. oh the joys of Lima!

I got to hang out with James again this week. It was amazing to hang out with him at the prom. I felt like I was in high school again. I got to hang out with the kids in his class and dance with his teachers. Mrs. Amy and Mrs. Ruth. They were so much fun!
I also got to stay in whitesburg this time in an apt up above Summit city. Joel Beverly is awesome, he allowed me to stay and hang out. I owe him.

On another note, this is my last week in Bowling Green for a while. I have an internship in Lima, Ohio!!!!! I'm really excited about it. I haven't been out of Bowling Green Kentucky ever,(well, residence wise) I grew up here and I am continuing college until I graduate here. I am really getting out of my comfort zone. But my optimism will continue because I know I'm going to have a great time!

IF your in Ohio, come and visit me!!!

April is Autism Awareness Month

This week I got hang out with this really rad family. They have 3 children, Rush, Danny and Mallory. I had a lot of fun getting to know them. Whats so amazing about them is that they are a family with amazing trials. Rush, the 5 year old boy is autistic as well as his brother Danny. Mallory however isnt. But Donna Renshaw, their mother is an advocate for autism awareness. She on 14.04.08 was on WBKO the local television station speaking about how April is Autism awareness month. Also that there will be a walk and festival to bring attention to autism awareness. I had a lot of fun getting to know the many helpers to Rush and his family.

Good times in Whitesburg Ky. this weekend. The first time I went it was an amazing expirance, but every time I go back, I love it more. Didn't really want to go back to bg. This journey involved much shooting...pictures of that soon to come, and much fun. Emmy, Brian and I went hiking, and walked through a creek. It never got any deeper it was strange to walk all the way across. There were fish nipping at our toes, that was an interesting feeling. I remember going to barren river lake and the fish bitting my toes, but I was so young.

I also got to hang out with several different people, and James Collins. Every time I see James and his family its great.

I shot boxing on Friday night, it was a Fraternity boxing match.
I really don't know how I feel about boxing as a sport,
but I had a lot of fun shooting it.

Rain boots would be nice

rain days
Freshman Western Kentucky University students Suzanne Deevers and Alexis Custard franticly ran to their dorm right before the rain started to pour.
Our Picture story class has a shoot out this week. It was an intense hour for me, I have never done a class shoot out. Both classes participated and both teachers gave critiques. It was a great change of pace.

James the great!

High school

After spending time in Whitesburg Ky I met James Collins. He is a hight school senior that was born with Dwarfism but he still attends mainstream school. Also James has a passion for wrestling. He was a wrestler from his sophomore year until the season ended recently in his senior year. James made me realize something I already knew but often forget. There are amazing individuals out in the world that are doing amazing things with the hand the were dealt. Sometimes I feel like I get so caught up in other people stories that I really don't appreciate my own life. I really appreciate him.
